The 35th International Meeting of Physical Therapy Science in Korea
The 35th International Meeting of Physical Therapy Science in Korea was held on September 9, 2023 at Eulji University, South Korea. The Chairperson was Professor KIM MinHee of Eulji University. This was the first face-to-face congress in Korea in four years, since the 2020 and 2021 congresses were held online and the 2022 congress was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Association President Hitoshi Maruyama and Chairperson of this congress greeted Dr. KIM MinHee, and both said they were happy to be able to meet face-to-face for the first time in a while. Approximately 70 people attended the conference.
The program encompassed a range of activities, including special lectures, oral presentations, poster presentations, a university tour, and an academic information exchange meeting. Special lectures were given by instructors from three countries. From South Korea, Dr. Han ZeeA, MD, gave a presentation on “WHO’s perspective in achieving health equity for persons with disability”. From China, Professor Zhu Yuetong presented Development of a Simple Normal-Weight Obesity Evaluation Indicator Using Anthropometric Measurements. From Australia, Dr. Kuzuyama Motoki gave a lecture titled “Physiotherapy at Private practice in Australia—risks and benefits of direct access”. A lively question and answer session took place.
The congress was a successful event that provided an opportunity for international exchange and collaboration among physical therapists and researchers. The next International Meeting of Physical Therapy Science in Korea will be held at Konyang University in 2024.
